Since the adoption of the Strategic Plan for the Convention and the framework for assessing progress towards the achievement of the 2010 Biodiversity Target much of the work related to monitoring, assessment and indicators has focused on this target. The second edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook applies the framework of goals, targets and indicators and assesses the current status and trends in biodiversity.
